THE PHOTOGRAPHY FELLOWSHIP @ HARDING HIGH SCHOOL

Beginning in school year 2025-26, Lorien is piloting a new program model, shifting from…

  • Clubs to Fellowships

  • Numbers-Driven Programming to Relationship-Driven Programming

  • Impact that is Wide but Shallow & Short-Term to Impact that is Narrower but Deeper & Long-Term

The Photography Fellowship at Harding will serve as a proof-of-concept for this model. The Photography Fellowship will include…

  • Whole Group Sessions

    • these sessions will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays after-school from 2:30-4:00pm

    • these sessions will focus on creative expression and skill development, primarily in the discipline of photography

  • Mentorship Cohorts

    • these cohorts will be groups of three students who will meet on Fridays after school for direct mentorship if topics of their choosing

    • these cohorts will rotate, meaning each cohort will meet once every 1-2 months

  • Unique Art Experiences

    • throughout the school year fellows will gain experience and exposure to other art forms — visual arts, theater, dance, music — through workshops, performances, field trips, seminars, and guest lectures.

  • Photography Retreat

    • During the spring semester, Fellows will head to the mountains on a multi-day photography retreat (3 days, 2 nights). This trip will give Fellows extended and dedicated time to rest, decompress, creatively reflect, and (of course) make photos!
